Oak Financial Corporation, Parent Company of Byron Bank, Reports Fourth Quarter and Full Year Results
OAK Financial Corporation (OKFC), a West Michigan-based bank holding company, reported fourth quarter net loss of $412,000 compared to net loss of $1,882,000 during the fourth quarter of 2008. Basic and diluted earnings per share in the fourth quarter of 2009 were ($0.15), compared to ($0.69) reported for the fourth quarter of 2008. For the year, net income in 2009 was $540,000 compared to $1,536,000 in 2008. Basic and diluted earnings per share for the full year were $0.20 in 2009 compared to $0.57 in 2008. The results for 2009 were significantly influenced by a $5,095,000 increase in the provision for loan losses in addition to increases in loan collection expenses and higher FDIC insurance premiums.

Chimera Investment Corporation Reports Strong Fourth Quarter; Dividend Rises as a Result of Improving Taxable Income
Chimera Investment Corporation (NYSE: CIM) today reported Core Earnings for the quarter ended December 31, 2009, of $80.7 million or $0.12 per average share as compared to Core Earnings for the quarter ended December 31, 2008, of $9.0 million or $0.07 per average share and Core Earnings for the quarter ended September 30, 2009, of $85.9 million or $0.13 per average share. "Core Earnings" represents a non-GAAP measure that approximates distributable income, and is defined as GAAP net income (loss) excluding non-cash equity compensation expense, other-than-temporary impairments, and gains or losses on sales of securities. The Company reported GAAP net income of $95.5 million or $0.14 per average share for the quarter ended December 31, 2009, as compared to GAAP net income of $8.8 million or $0.07 per average share for the quarter ended December 31, 2008, and GAAP net income of $158.0 million or $0.24 per average share for the quarter ended September 30, 2009.

SBA Disaster Loan Deadline is March 8; There is Still Time to Apply
The U.S. Small Business Administration is reminding small businesses that March 8 is the filing deadline for federal economic injury disaster loans available in the declared counties of Bedford, Benton, Coffee, Decatur, Dickson, Franklin, Hickman, Humphreys, Lewis, Lincoln, Marshall, Maury, Moore, Perry, Rutherford, Wayne and Williamson in Tennessee. The SBA declared a disaster as a result of excessive rain and extensive flooding that began May 1, 2009.
